It helps to 'de-mystify' music, allowing music to be much more accessible by the general population.
This is in contrast to Sheet Music, where only the extremely dedicated people would ever get to the point where they actually understood music.

The next 5 months is more about taking The Music Theory concepts and expanding on them so that you can sound more advanced on the Piano.
Most students start to feel fairly confident on the Piano after just 3 months.
Not at all.
In rare cases, like if you're training to be a classical pianist, you will need to learn sheet music, and thus this will not be the curriculum for you.
However, for the majority of modern musicians, sheet music is simply not necessary. It's very uncommon for professional musicians to use sheet music today.
The Curriculum is broken up into 26 Weeks.
So for example in Week 1, you'll have a 'Lesson Video' that you'll watch on a Monday. Then you'll have an accompanying 'Practice Video' that you'll practice, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, & Friday.
Then Rinse & Repeat from Week 2 - Week 26.
This process eliminates all the guess work and allows you to make strides really quickly.
